the near-migraine I've had for three days is welcome to FOAD any time soon.
Also, the constant load of grading can FOAD. I haven't had an evening off in a long time.
Book fairs can fuck off. I know it's a great fundraiser, but anybody who benefits from it should freaking help out with it. I'm exhausted! Also, it's confusing the hell out of the little kids who want to BORROW books.
Absolutely on both the migraine and grading, Ricki. I've gotten behind in mine, again, and really wish I taught something where I could give and grade short answer homework and multiple choice exams (easier to be objective, that way).
What kind of nitwits hold a book fair in a library, Kate? When I was in elementary school, the book fairs were always set up in the gym or cafeteria, on the stage. I think I'd be rather pissed, too--especially if the organizers expected me to do that job on top of my own.
My pelvic arch can definitely fuck off for deciding that, since it is a joint, it should pop like a joint, and then hurt for two days solid (resulting in little sleep, and an inability to grade fairly).
HH--oh no, the cafeteria is seriously too small, even for the amount of students eating lunch in there. The gym, well, I don't know what the story is but if I had to guess it's that it's used too much to be put out of commission, even a portion of it. But over TWO WEEKS of this in what is essentially our classroom and the study/literacy center of the school? I don't understand why it's O.K., but "this is the way we've always done it."
Sorry about your pain. I've seen a lot of pregnant ladies come to my chiropractor for treatment--maybe that's an option? Hope you get some relief.
Heart goes out to all of you for your FOs. I got nuthin', just spent a week deer hunting with family so feeling good.
